The decision to acquire Helpsy Source in late 2024 was rooted in recognizing its untapped potential and acknowledging its limitations. While Helpsy Source had a strong foundation, it wasn't fully addressing the critical needs of store owners. Jessica Rennard, as the Chief Merchandising Officer at Helpsy Source, recognized that the company had reached a plateau and needed a significant shift to truly empower resale entrepreneurs.
Jessica's pivotal meeting with David Lukrich of Angel Rush Ventures solidified this vision. They instantly aligned on one clear objective: creating a sourcing platform entirely dedicated to supporting and empowering store owners.
Jessica's passion for resale and deep industry expertise began long before NuSource or Helpsy Source. It started in 2010 at Career Wardrobe, a nonprofit organization that focuses on monetizing donated clothing to support its mission. Her role there ignited a lifelong interest in the resale industry, prompting her to pursue a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management. Over the years, Jessica gained extensive hands-on experience working directly in thrift stores and consignment shops, identifying inefficiencies like unclear pricing, inconsistent inventory quality, and chaotic inventory management.
In 2016, she founded her own successful resale consulting business, applying her expertise to help resale businesses streamline operations, pricing strategies, and inventory management. Jessica's entrepreneurial spirit and leadership led her team to significant success, including scaling a multi-million-dollar online resale venture. Her extensive education, deep firsthand experience, and relentless drive to optimize sourcing made her uniquely qualified to lead the transition from Helpsy Source to NuSource, ultimately establishing the foundation for a sourcing platform truly built around the needs of store owners.
